Another quick update, this time from Johannesburg, South Africa.
After a really fantastic time driving round Namibia, sadly we left this morning for the short flight across the Kalahari desert to Johannesburg in South Africa.
Namibia was a really wonderful and easy place to travel around. The country is very well set up for the tourist trade. The roads in the main are good to drive on, some of the main ones are good fast tarmac roads but most are gravel but in good repair without too many problems. Some are only drivable with extreme care or even 4x4. Road signs are plentiful and so are lodges, camp sites and guest farms near all the major tourist hotspots so if you are thinking of trying Africa on your own then this is the place to come. Food was very good, both for Jan being a vegetarian and Mike eating anything and everything thrown at him. Some of the game choices were Oryx, Springbox, Eland and Kudu (all tried and enjoyed) plus Giraffe, Zebra, Ostich and Crocodile (not tried)
Now we are in the big city and have arranged tours to Soweto, The Appartheid Museum and a few other places in the short time we have here. More about this once we are home as we dont have a lot of time here
