Arrival

Arrived on Boniare yesterday at 03.30 in morning local time after a long flight. Jan slept all the way but I find I cannot sleep well in aircraft. As we exited the plane and walked across the tarmac the heat heat you, very hot and humid but by the time we had collected the baggage and got through customs it was pouring with rain so nothing unusual there. We had to say that we had hoped to have left that weather behind. It was ok though as it does rain here in Bonaire most days, or rather nights and only for a few minutes and usually quite hard.
After breakfast we collect the car then started our dive orientaion course which is compulsory for ALL divers, irrespective of experience, returning to diving on Bonaire. This was just a talk about what we can and cannot do followed by a dive with Menno, our instructor and host. All went well and we both seemed to remember most things.
This then led to our first dive together on our own. A good dive in fantastic coral with even a small turtle with us on the final stages as we came up.
Now for more dives this week and will take the camera out and post some pictures later in the week

Menno sounds like a lovely chap, sorry about your unfortunate sleeping troubles on the plane...Could we please run a spell check before posting we weren't quite sure what 'heat heat' was refering to??
Looking forward to many more interesting blogs to come...your two dedicated blog fans...x
