WET

Well not really, that is an understatement. The long flight was on time and uneventful until we came over the Panama Isthmus and it got quite cloudy but glimpses of the Canal were sighted. As we turned over the Pacific for final approach we went through a large thunderstorm and the lightning was very impressive as you flew into land. The storm has lasted all night and it is still pouring at breakfast.

We have been out and booked a car for a couple of weeks to travel round. Cost on the internet was about £600.00, cost at airport on checking was the same, cost from Panama City is just over £300.00 so we judged right and booked here.

The morning was spent in the warm rain just wandering and looking but the rain did stop and we went of to explore the old colonial part of the city, very run down in parts but beautifully restored in others. Lots of work going on as it is another of the World Heritage sites to tick that we have been to see.

And at the end of day one it has stopped raining (for now) but tomorrow we head of west into the rain forests so lots more expected.

We will add more along with pictures as and when we can get a decent internet connection
