Summer 2010 Namibia

Well almost a year has gone by since my last BLOG. OK we only seem to use this for holidays so a little about this years
Jan & I are of to Namibia on a self drive holiday around, what seems is, the whole of Namibia.
We fly into Johannesburg then transfer to Windhoek, capital of Namibia, where we stay for a couple of days. We then have the car delivered to us and of we go north via Waterberg Plateau, The Otavi Mountains to Etosha National Park where we stay for a few days. The journey then heads west along the border with Angola to the Atlantic coast and Damaraland, Kaokoland and the Skeleton Coast before hitting the "big" towns of Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. After that we head further south into the worlds largest sand dunes around Sossuvlei and on into the Namib Desert, followed by Fish River Canyon and the Kalahari Desert before returning eventually to Windhoek once again. The final part is a couple of days in Johannesburg on the way home. The accommodation is a variety of camping in the national parks and other places plus lodges and a few hotel and guest houses
Lots to see, lots to photograph and as long as we get electricity and internet access then updates will be posted on here along with as many photos as we can along the way. It should be interesting as the driving in Panama last year seemed a challenge but this year it will be a whole different ball game.
