Well this is it, our final day here in Ndola. We have now
completed all we have to do with Beyond Ourselves (for now). We have said our
goodbyes and the car is packed and already to go. Many people have already left
Ndola, some just for holidays as the schools have finished. They have gone back
to other continents to visit with friends and family before returning back here
at the end of August. Others have left to return back to homes or moved on to
other places to continue work and will not be returning to Zambia in the
foreseeable future. We are going to miss them all as friends.
The car is now packed and we are ready for the off |
It has been a very difficult and sad week in many ways
calling into the different schools and places we have worked to say goodbye but
also an exciting one as we are looking forward to what is to come.
Saying goodbye at Kawama School |
Another goodbye in the sunset this week |
Early tomorrow morning (Monday) we will leave and start a
four month drive of around 16-18,000 miles covering 13 different countries and
crossing 17 borders as we wind our way around East and Southern Africa. After
that we do make a quick return to Ndola before flying back to UK just before
Christmas.
We have had an amazing time living here in Zambia and would
like to thank all of our friends for making it that way.
We will aim to update the blog and other social media
platforms we have as often as we can and that depends on internet connections.
Mike and Jan
