Kaingu Safari Lodge was the final stop on “Our Great
Migration” and it was very fitting that when we first came to Zambia back in
February 2015 this was our first lodge that we stopped at. It is in the centre
of the southern section of Kafue National Park. For the first time on this trip
we had nothing to do except relax and enjoy. No more driving as we will be
taken on game drives, no more cooking as we will be fully catered for and best
of all no more putting up tents. We spent 4 nights here in luxury and being
able to get out and see animals in the beautiful Kafue National Park.
Sleeping lions |
Walking in the bush is not a good idea as lions hide so well |

Our Guide Kaley |
About to go for a walk, armed guard is ready |
Sundowner on a rock |
It was sad to leave our guide Kaley and all our friends at
Kaingu but leave we had to for our final drive back to Ndola. Kafue was our
nearest park but it was still 8 hours drive away. We arrived back to Ndola to a
fantastic welcome from all and really great to see the children again
A few facts and figures
131 days away
107 nights in our tent
24 nights in places other than our tent
24,750 kilometres driven
12 countries visited
17 borders crossed
over 2700 litres fuel
1 new set tyres
4 full car services
10 bottles gin (medicinal purposes only you understand)
Bottles wine (a small vineyard full I suspect)
Photos taken ……. Just a couple
