We arrived in Zambia at the start of what we really hope to be a totally new phase in our lives. As many who read this already know, we both want to go and live in Africa and help local communities and the first week of this holiday is all about that. We are in Ndola, a city in the Copperbelt Area, to look at 3 schools that are partnered by a charity in the UK. This time will be spent making sure that we like it here and that the charity can see us working with them.
We have spent the short time so far meeting the small team, Getting to know the area and going into the schools and local towns and villages to meet people and to look at homes that may possibly be available.
The first full day was a Sunday and we were invited to a Church service in Ndola and met Bishop Festus, Bishop of The Copperbelt area who also happens to be The Director of one of the schools that are partnered. Although we are not believers we were made very welcome and were introduced to the local people.

The charcoal delivery by bike for the school kitchen. Many of the children do not get a meal at home so the charity pays the school to feed every child a hot meal each day. The children line up first to wash their hands then to collect a meal and sit down to eat it back in a class room or outside if the weather is fine
